A little hidden, but a gem, Roy's offered a nice sushi selection with surprising quality. I saw a coulple poor reviews but decided to give it a shot and my wife and I were glad we did. After starting with the orange tuna salad, which was very good, we moved on to sushi. The fish was fresh and creatvity was a plus on the roll (I don't remember what it was called) we had to accompany the fish. The only downside was they didn't have any cobia, but they did have just about everyhung else one would want including uni with quail egg. All and all, a very solid choice if you are looking for sushi in the Port St Lucie area.

Roy's makes my favorite sushi on the Treasure Coast. SO GOOD! Writing this review is making me crave their food. My favorite is their Narita roll. Their lunchtime bento boxes are even better. I always clean my plate ... err, box. Roy's has attentive, but not pushy service. Their decor is tasteful and beautiful. The seating is a combination of comfortable couches and chairs. Their food is not cheap, but not unreasonably priced either. I think the quality of their sushi, their great service and the lovely decor makes Roy's a good deal and worth the mini-splurge. As a sushi restaurant, they are perfect. But I deducted a star because I'm not as fond of their Thai food. Honestly, I find I have much better luck with my beloved pad thai at other Thai establishments in the area. Roy's is tucked near the back of a newer shopping plaza, so it can be hard to find. The shopping plaza is located west of the Publix shopping plaza in St. Lucie West. (Edwin Watts Golf is located in the same plaza as Roy's.)

Honestly, for the location of this restaurant, i think the sushi is pretty good despite whether or not they are busy. It is after all, located near Port Saint Lucie. I also like their Thai food. I would recommend coming here. It is however, a bit overpriced for the area, not for the food served. The prices are standard for sushi.

Roy's is pretty awesome. Their sushi is some of the best in the area. LOVE the Spider Roll. I haven't tried much in the way of their Japanese meals (except that I'm not a fan of their teriyaki), but their Thai dishes are pretty good as well (pad thai, pad se ew). If you get a salad with your meal, try it with the peanut dressing... I love it! Overall, very nice, good atmosphere, I don't recommend sitting on the couches unless you REALLY came to socialize and not eat... they are pretty awkward for trying to eat. And a final note... I LOVE going here for lunch! The bento combinations are perfectly portioned (maybe even a little too big) and a great price.

My husband nd I went here a few weeks ago and it was bad...just plain gross. Specifically the shrimp dish we ordered was inedible. Very fishy. We had decided to try this place because online their menu says they have "Honey Walnut Shrimp" which is my favorite dish.....but they dont actually have it. Nice couches and ggod ambiance for a drink....but I wont be eating here again.

Very good, fresh food. We had 2 sushi rolls each-one basic & one new & different. All were excellent. Very nice atmosphere - love the couches.

Excellent mid scale sushi place. i was pleasantly suprised upon reading through both sides of the menu, and upon tasting the inventive flavors it had to offer. my personal favorite rolls are the Kanisu roll (shrimp Krab cream cheese black sesame seed garnish wrapped in cucumber, no rice no seaweed, served with sweet vinegar sauce) and the Sumo roll (sice seaweed salmon tuna cream cheese tomago shrimp tempura with spicy sauce) the sake and plum wine selection is nice, and the service is very good. they seem to know how much i love sea life, because i am always seated next to the fish tank! :) i really enjoy coming here, and plan to bring any of my sushi loving friends here if they come to visit me.

Good food, decent price and pleasant ambiance, also clean. Odd location though. The staff is friendly and Roy is pretty cool - at least I think he is Roy. Would go back when I am in town again. The beef tataki appetizer was pretty darn good :)

This is a review if their Thai food. We had the Panang curry with beef and Pad See Ew beef. The Panang wasn't really spicy and true to what it is supposed to be...it also looked like yellow curry. The Pad See Ew was too sweet...something we've noticed with all Thai places here!

I was pretty unimpressed overall. Got there during an off time 2 in the afternoon. I was the only customer so I would have expected the server would stop by more frequently than just to drop food off. The prices were high for the portions. I had the Mussaman which was good except the peanuts on top were stale. I took the Spider Roll home -- pretty unipressive compared to others I've had. The dining area was nicely done - you sit at a table or on couches - different & a bit interesting.

Skip this place. Food is so so. Service extremely slow. Took 40 minutes just to get our check. Glad to finally get out. Will never return.

I ate at approximately 70+ sushi restaurant and I have to admit that Roy's is most likely top 5. The ambience is very relaxed. I recommend the crunchy tuna roll or crunchy salmon roll.

Are you from anywhere in the world that has access to decent sushi? Don't eat sushi in Port Saint Lucie. This is the third time I've tried to get sushi in this town. This place was highly recommended to me. 90% of the special rolls have cream cheese, mayo or something fried. To me, that's not sushi. In addition, the least expensive roll is $11. $11 for a pile of Krab. Just no. The service was decent and the atmosphere was nice. (If you choose, you can sit at a couch in front of a coffee table and feel right at home). Overall, thought this place was overpriced and did not enjoy my meal at all. Will not return.

I travel the world as a corporate pilot and grade my destinations by the sushi I eat. What I find amazing is the best sushi in the world is in my backyard. Roy you and your staff are the best. The food is to die for and the presentation is superb. Keep up the great work!

I have mixed feelings about Roy's. On the one hand their rolls are typically delicious, and their boats are generous. The ambiance is lovely and the parking is plentiful. Having said that, it is so extremely disappointing that they consistently and without exception play the up-charge game. Any amendments you want to make, there is a fee. Any substitutions, fee. Any exchanges, fee. You don't refund me money when I ask that you leave something out, but as soon as I say I want to amend an ingredient, fee! Trust me Roy's you have lost more of my money from my going to Sake Too and Hokkaido because I was so sick of it than you have gained. It's really a shame too, as I used to go to Roy's regularly, sometimes twice a week. But after my last up-charge, I think I decided it was going to be my last up-charge.

First, I loved the atmosphere--very unique and well done. It's a place you feel comfortable settling into for a meal. They also have a decent wine list for a sushi place, as well as several different sakes and plum wines. The beer is less interesting--the usual Asian plus some Bud. The sushi rolls were very tasty. I had one classic and one special, and both were very good, as were the spicy tuna roll and the JB roll we had for hors d'oeuvres. Our other starter was the steamed dumplings, which were like chinese dim sum and very good. The curry had the right mixture of spice and flavor and the teriyaki sauce tasted freshly made. The one drawback was that the chicken in the teriyaki had been somewhat overcooked, but not so much so that we didn't eat it anyway. Altogether, a very positive experience--I'll be back.

Horrible experience, I will NOT be returning here anymore! I live in Miami and I have a friend that stays in Port St Lucie, she recommended this sushi spot for me and my other friends to try out. It was a total of 4 of us. Everything was bad to the watered down not sweet lemonade they served us to the food that came with it as well. The only thing I did enjoy was the fried banana's for dessert also scalps wrapped in bacon as a starter. My friend found PAPER wrapped in one of her sushi rolls, she sent her food back and when they brought her a new plate her food was raw beyond raw. We are not the type to eat raw sushi and are very picky when it comes to things like that. AGAIN HER FOOD WAS SENT BACK and we were sure to let the waiter know that we will NOT be paying for that meal. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING HERE ANYMORE! AND BE AWARE THAT THEIR PRICES ARE A BIT PRICY! NOT WORTH IT ALL!

So disappointed on today's dinner! Lobster roll, fried grouper with sam rod sauce was disgusting the proteins they used on those dishes we ordered aren't even fresh it's really fishy. I bet it's not stored properly and was time temperature abused.. I would not recommend this place ambience a 4star waitstaff 5star Food 1star..

I have been to this restaurant on two occasions. First off the decor is unique and inviting. You're immediately welcome to a huge fish tank in the middle of the restaurant along with comfortable couches and chairs for you to sit in your dining experience along with traditional tables and chairs. They have icicle lights hanging from the ceiling which gives an entertaining dining experience. Everyone says hello and its very friendly. The hostess was very laid back. The sushi selection seems broad and was very delicious. I got the seared eel rolls and the portion was generous. The server was cheerful and attentive...always smiling. Medium size selection of wines and beers with Japanese and Chinese options. Its my new favorite place to go in PSL.

I have a love/hate relationship with this restaurant. The last couple months we have only ordered to go and picked up our food, eating it at home. No complaints about that, they have our 4 rolls ready in 10-15 min from ordering and my husband, who runs in to pay, is in and out of the building within 2-3 minutes. We live about 10 min away, so it's always ready by the time we get there. After some bad experiences with their special rolls we ONLY order the simple rolls such as the JB roll, salmon roll, tuna roll, eel roll, etc. No frills and the fish they use is fresh and tastes great. They're also pro rollers of the sushi, which makes a difference. Some sushi places use too much rice with a tiny bit of fish and others make the roll messy and everything falls out. My husband, who is a chef and sometimes makes homemade sushi, took inspiration on how they create their rolls and used their style to perfect his technique. Roy's makes sure to have huge chunks of fish and other fillings so you can really taste everything in the roll. When we do eat in we usually request sitting on their couch which has a nice at home feel and the couches are overstuffed and comfortable. The other decor they can do without, like the Christmas icicle looking lights hanging from the warehouse looking ceiling. Kinda tacky and not all of them work. I also don't think they should draw attention to the ugly pipes and dusty vents. I digress. Now for the bad aspect. A couple times we veered away from the simple rolls and ordered their pricey special rolls. The description is very detailed and makes it easy to find what you're in the mood for. However, the special rolls have left a lot to be desired, it's the sauce that ruins the rolls for me. My husband agrees that the sauce needs to be improved or left out altogether. The red sauce, don't even recall the name, tastes exactly like marinara sauce on a pizza. When my husband and I were dating years ago he took me to this place because he frequented it when he was in town and I ordered a roll with this sauce. Pizza sauce came to mind right away. I was new to sushi then and I thought it was the strangest combo ever. 7 years later and now experienced with eating sushi, I tried the sauce again and it was the same taste- pizza sauce. We tried a roll with what was supposed to be spicy mayo. I blurted out that it tasted like McD French fries. My husband dropped his roll and said yep, that's the flavor. We couldn't finish the rest. I give them kudos for duplicating the McD fry taste in a sauce form, but I don't want it on my raw fish. Another bad experience was a roll with raw lemon (with the peel) under the salmon. I guess others might like that, but the lemon was overpowering all other flavors and I picked it off the other rolls before I ate them. We will still order from this sushi place, but simple sauceless rolls are the way to go for us. Just the delicious high quality fish flavors with a little bit of low sodium soy sauce and we're golden.

In town for business, it was one of the few sushi places nearby, and I was happy to find it. It's definitely clean, the people are friendly, and it has decent decor...the saltwater fish tank being my favorite (is that ironic?) The food was yummy, but not amazing. My Tom Yung Goong soup was not spicy at all, so i don't know if that's the norm, or if my server just assumed i wanted "mild." But like I said, if you crave sushi, go here without hesitation, it'll hit the spot.... It's kind of hard to find in the strip mall, but it's behind the at&t and ups store, around the corner.
